Trellis
Counseling SerVICES
In-Person and Online Support
for Parents, Teens, and Adults
Welcome
Trellis Counseling Services provides a
compassionate space where you can explore
what’s feeling overwhelming and begin to make
sense of it. Whether you're a parent navigating
the challenges of raising a child, a teen or young
adult struggling with anxiety or self-doubt, or just
someone carrying the weight of past experiences,
therapy can help.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based
practices, including EMDR, CBT, and client-
centered therapy, (which basically means I have
tools to help you heal trauma, think about things
in a way that is helpful, and I show up as a real
person in our sessions). My goal is to help you feel
supported, empowered, and capable of creating
meaningful change.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Let’s work together to create a path forward that
feels right for you.
Services and Fees
Parent support sessions offer a
structured, skills-based, and solution-
focused approach to common behavior
challenges. Using evidence-based tools,
we’ll explore practical strategies to
manage defiance, reduce emotional
outbursts, improve communication, and
strengthen your relationship with your
child. These action-oriented sessions give
you clear, effective techniques you can
begin applying right away. While not
therapy, parent coaching supports you in
navigating parenting stress with
confidence and clarity.

At Trellis Counseling Services, I offer both in-person and online for parents, teens, and adults. While my standard fees are listed
below, I do happily offer sliding scale slots and am happy to discuss a fee that may better meet you or your family’s needs. Please
let me know when you reach out if you are interested in discussing sliding scale options.
Anxiety, depression, and trauma can
make it hard to feel like yourself. In
individual therapy, we’ll focus on
healing from past experiences,
identifying and shifting unhelpful
beliefs, and developing tools for
resilience. Whether you're navigating a
life transition or feeling stuck in old
patterns, therapy offers a space to
move toward meaningful, lasting
change.

Sometimes the best way to support your
child is to start with yourself. If you’re
feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or
carrying stress that makes parenting
more difficult, therapy can help.
Together, we’ll explore the emotions,
beliefs, and past experiences that shape
how you show up as a parent. These
sessions focus on healing patterns that
no longer serve you, helping you feel
more grounded and present with your
child.

My name is Leela and I am a nationally certified Licensed Clinical Mental
Health Counselor in Washington State. I currently live in Kirkland where I see
clients via telehealth and have an office one day a week in Issaquah for
those preferring in-person sessions.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent ten years in education, working with
children, teens, and families in roles ranging from Montessori early
childhood support to teaching middle school math. I also worked as a nanny,
gaining hands-on experience with different parenting styles, relational
attachments, and behavioral challenges. Throughout my bachelor’s and
master’s I focused on child behavior and development. These experiences
deepened my understanding of the joys and complexities of raising children
and how early experiences shape us.
Originally from Houston, I moved to Seattle several years ago for graduate
school. The Tex-Mex here could use some work, and the winter days could
be a little longer, but otherwise, I couldn’t imagine moving back. The PNW is
where I am meant to be!
Outside of therapy, I love soaking up Seattle’s summers, pretending I can
garden, and when time allows, unwinding with a cozy book at home. I strive
to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood,
and truly supported.
About
What are your rates?
Intake Sessions: $225
Parenting & Behavior Support Sessions: $200 per 55 min session
Individual Therapy for Parents, Teens and Adults: $175 per 55 min session
Phone calls over 15 minutes are pro-rated at the $175/hr rate.
I am an out-of-network (OON) provider, meaning I do not bill insurance directly. However, I do provide superbills (detailed receipts for sessions) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
How do out-of-network (OON) benefits work?
If your insurance includes OON benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. To check your coverage, call your insurance provider
and ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of each session fee is reimbursed? Ask me for specific insurance billing codes.
Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
Do I need prior authorization?
I can also assist in navigating OON benefits through Mentaya or a similar service to maximize reimbursement.
FAQ
Do you accept insurance?
How do I schedule a session?
You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation by going to the contact me page and sending me an email.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes! I happily offer a number of sliding scale spots based on financial need (and you may qualify even if you aren’t receiving other forms of assistance). I strongly believe that mental health care should be affordable to everyone. If cost is a concern, please reach out to discuss your options.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to the full session fee. Please reach out to me as soon as you know you will need to miss a session. I will do my best to get you rescheduled.
How often should I come to therapy?
Most clients start with weekly sessions for consistency and progress. Over time, we may adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals. For some individuals, progress is seen more quickly with twice-a-week sessions. Ask about my availability and we can discuss this as an option.
Do you work with children?
Generally, I do not offer individual therapy for young children. Instead, I work with parents to help them manage behaviors and strengthen their relationship with their child. If you're looking for therapy specifically for your child, I can happily provide referrals.
How will I know if we are a good fit?
It is important that you feel comfortable with whomever you choose as a therapist. I offer free 15-20 minute consultations for this reason. During this call we can discuss what type of session is best for you and we can get a feel for one another.
What should I expect in my first session?
In our first session, we’ll discuss your concerns, goals, and background to determine the best approach for therapy or behavior support. Sessions are tailored to your needs, whether you're seeking tools for parenting challenges or working through personal struggles.
What theraputic modalities do you use?
I am trained in EMDR, Trauma Focused CBT, and FAST-B. I also use a client centered approach that incorporates elements from a variety of additional modalities including Internal Family Systems/parts work, along with ACT and PFR. If you have any additional questions or would like to discuss these further, please ask!
What is this EMDR that you keep referring to?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing experiences by using guided eye movements (or other bi-lateral stimulation) to process and reframe difficult memories.
